I'm not sure how to get started. Do you offer an initial consultation?
Yes! Dr. Kelly's values getting to know and building a relationship with her learners. She offers a free, 30-minute consultation, which can occur virtually through Microsoft Teams or via telephone. During this consultation, we will have an opportunity to get to know one another and discuss how her customizable trainings can meet your needs.
What type of trainings and speaking engagements do you provide?
Dr. Kelly delivers trainings and speaking engagements in a variety of formats. On topics of your choosing, she provides research-informed presentations, roundtable discussions, small group workshops, seminars, and custom packages. During our initial consultation, we will discuss and develop plans for your preferred training length and topic!
What is a presentation?
Dr. Kelly utilizes platforms, such as PowerPoint, to deliver training and handouts on a mental health and wellness topic of your choosing. Presentations are created utilizing applicable research and scholarly literature. Your initial consultation with Dr. Kelly will involve discussing your preferred training topic, length, level of discussion and interaction, as well as instructional level (e.g., basic, intermediate, advanced).
What is a roundtable discussion vs. workshop vs. seminar?
Dr. Kelly moderates and facilitates roundtable discussions, which involve in-depth processing and exploration about a mental health and wellness topic of your interest. Each member will be invited to participate by offering their perspectives and worldviews, asking questions, and engaging in healthy debate. These discussions differ from Dr. Kelly's workshops, wherein she provides more intensive education and skills-training about a requested topic. Seminars are longer in length, lasting at least 1 day, and provide education and instruction about your preferred topic.
Who are your trainings for?
Dr. Kelly's trainings are tailorable to meet the needs of the requesting audience. Dr. Kelly provides speaking engagements and trainings for community and student groups, nonprofit organizations, and businesses seeking to facilitate learning about mental health and wellness topics. Sample groups include animal and human healthcare providers, community groups and organizations, teaching staff and personnel, coaches, etc. Not sure if her services are a good fit for your group? What topics do you offer training on?
To remain within Dr. Kelly's scope of competence, her trainings focus on topics related to mental health and wellness. Sample topics include veterinary mental health and suicide prevention, compassion fatigue and burnout, workplace wellbeing, trauma, self-care, self-care for the working professional, prevention as a pathway toward health, interpersonal and animal violence prevention, adverse childhood experience, resilience, assistance animals (e.g., service, therapy animals), grief, communication and boundary-setting, healthy relationships, athlete mental health, as well as suicide risk, protection, and prevention. Don't see a topic you're interested in? Reach out to discuss your ideas with Dr. Kelly! If your preferred topic is outside of Dr. Kelly's scope of competence, she will work to provide you with a referral to an appropriate education provider.
Do you offer live and in-person event speaking/trainings?
At present, Dr. Kelly provides virtual event speaking/training across the United States as well as in-person offerings within a 60-mile radius of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Do you offer CEUs for mental healthcare providers?
At this time, CEU credit for participation in Dr. Kelly's trainings and events is not provided. Gaining CEU credit will be the responsibility of the requesting party. Dr. Kelly requires at least 10 business days to provide any supporting documentation you may need to gain CEU approval.
